Gaza – Public Relations

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at Isra University concluded, on Monday, August 3, 2026, the graduation project defenses for bachelor’s degree students in the Artificial Intelligence and Mobile Computing programs. The defenses were held over three days, from August 1 to 3, 2026, and included seven innovative projects reflecting the students’ academic and research efforts.

The defense sessions were attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Ahmad Ezzat Al-Salibi, and the Head of the Information Technology Department, Dr. Ahmad Tayeh, along with project supervisors and examination committees comprising distinguished faculty members from inside and outside the Gaza Strip. Among them were Dr. Huda Labad, Dr. Mohammad Abdullah from Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, Eng. Suleiman Al-Masri, and Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Masri. The committee members provided scientific and constructive feedback aimed at further developing the projects and enhancing the quality of their outcomes.

Dr. Nahed Hijazi, Vice President for Academic Affairs, commended this achievement and praised the outstanding efforts made by the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, represented by its dean and faculty members. He emphasized that this work has been accomplished under exceptionally difficult circumstances, embodying Isra University’s commitment to continuing to provide distinguished professional academic education and maintaining its leading position among universities in Palestine and the broader academic community.

The projects demonstrated the students’ advanced awareness of the needs of Palestinian society, particularly in light of the exceptional circumstances facing the Gaza Strip. They focused on leveraging artificial intelligence technologies and digital solutions to address real-world challenges across various fields.

The projects included the development of smart applications for organizing the distribution of humanitarian aid efficiently and equitably, as well as digital systems supporting the physical and cognitive rehabilitation of injured individuals using computer vision technologies and smartphone cameras. Other projects involved smart media platforms designed to accelerate the dissemination of reliable news and facilitate fact-checking.

Additional projects focused on developing medical decision-support systems to predict the likelihood of diabetes using machine-learning algorithms, as well as computer-vision solutions for facial recognition to enhance security and automation systems. The students also developed smart applications for prioritizing medical referrals according to fair and transparent criteria, alongside data-analysis systems for predicting emergency and ambulance response times, contributing to improved response speed and decision-making in resource-constrained environments.

These project defenses are part of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology’s commitment to strengthening the practical and research skills of its students and enabling them to apply their academic knowledge to developing innovative technological solutions that serve society. They also contribute to keeping pace with rapid developments in mobile computing and artificial intelligence, helping prepare qualified graduates equipped with the competence, creativity, and ability to excel in their fields.
