The Deanship of Graduate Studies at Isra University held an academic seminar to discuss the research proposals submitted by students enrolled in the Master’s in Law program. The seminar reflects the university’s commitment to advancing the quality of scientific research and guiding graduate studies toward producing legal knowledge that addresses the needs of society and responds to emerging issues.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Munya Mazid, Dean of Graduate Studies, and Dr. Tareq Al-Deerawi, Graduate Studies Coordinator at the Faculty of Law, with the participation of a specialized academic committee comprising a distinguished group of law professors and specialists: Dr. Abdul Qader Jarada, Dr. Afif Abu Kaloub, Dr. Osama Al-Akhras, Dr. Akram Mazhar, and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Madani.
During the seminar, the committee discussed a number of research topics and proposals submitted by the master’s students. The proposals were evaluated in terms of the originality of their topics, their academic and practical significance, and their relevance to real-world legal challenges. The committee also discussed the research objectives, methodologies, and expected outcomes to ensure the development of sound and applicable research proposals.
The committee emphasized the importance of moving beyond the traditional theoretical approach in legal research and focusing on real problems facing Palestinian society, while exploring possible legal solutions, particularly amid the exceptional circumstances and current phase, which have created new challenges, legislation, and legal issues requiring specialized academic and legal analysis.
The committee also stressed the need for research objectives and outcomes to be aligned with the Palestinian context and to contribute insights and recommendations that can provide genuine added value to the legal landscape, serving institutions, society, and policymakers. This, in turn, strengthens the role of scientific research in addressing national, rights-based, and humanitarian issues.
The seminar reflects the university’s approach of linking academic research with real-world needs and transforming graduate studies into a platform for developing scientific solutions and approaches to societal challenges, thereby strengthening the presence and role of Palestinian legal research in building a more just future.
