The Intermediate College at Al-Israa University organized a nursing oath ceremony for nursing students over two days, covering Gaza, the North, the Central region, and the South. The event was attended by Dr. Basel Al-Sheikh, Dean of the College; Mr. Mohammed Abu Amra, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ihab Abu Al-Khair, Director of Public Relations; Mr. Sameh Al-Amoudi, Head of the Nursing Department; and Mr. Hassan Abu Ubaid, Head of Practical Training in the Nursing Department, along with a number of academic and administrative staff members.

The ceremony for students from the Central and Southern governorates was held at the Citizen Service Center التابعة للإغاثة الزراعية in Deir al-Balah, while the ceremony for Gaza and Northern students took place at the Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Gaza City, in a distinguished atmosphere filled with pride and joy among students, their families, and attendees.

In his speech, Dr. Basel Al-Sheikh emphasized the importance of this pivotal moment in the lives of nursing students, noting that it marks the beginning of their practical engagement and training within various healthcare institutions in the Gaza Strip. This, he explained, contributes to refining their skills and preparing them to serve the community. He wished them success in their professional journey.

Mr. Mohammed Abu Amra, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, highlighted the college’s strong focus on both academic and practical aspects of nursing education. He stressed the continuous efforts to prepare qualified healthcare professionals equipped with scientific knowledge and practical skills to meet labor market demands. He added that practical training is a true extension of the academic journey, urging students to be diligent, disciplined, and committed to professional ethics.

For his part, Mr. Sameh Al-Amoudi, Head of the Nursing Department, expressed his pride in the students, emphasizing that nursing is a noble humanitarian profession requiring commitment, responsibility, and competence. He encouraged students to represent their university in the best possible way during their practical training.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hassan Abu Ubaid, Head of Practical Training in the Nursing Department, stressed the importance of adhering to instructions and regulations within healthcare institutions, as this plays a key role in students’ success and in gaining essential practical experience. He affirmed that training is the most important stage in building a nurse’s professional identity.

The event concluded with students taking the nursing oath in an atmosphere of optimism and pride, expressing their readiness to begin practical training and serve their community with dedication and responsibility.
