College of Law Holds an Orientation Session on Legal Studies and the Future of the Specialization

The College of Law organized a welcoming and orientation session for newly admitted students, attended by Dr. Munther Azzam, Dean of the College; Dr. Abdul-Ilah Ishtaiwi, Head of the Department of Law; and Mr. Mustafa Diab, Director of Student Affairs. The session also featured Mr. Sufyan Siam, a lawyer and university lecturer, as a guest speaker. The event was held at the university’s premises in Gaza City and online via Zoom.
In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Munther Azzam welcomed the new students, emphasizing that joining the College of Law marks the beginning of an important academic and professional journey. He encouraged them to work diligently and make the most of their years of study by developing the knowledge and skills that will qualify them to become distinguished legal professionals capable of serving their community.
The session included a presentation entitled “How Do We Study Law?”, delivered by Mr. Sufyan Siam. He discussed methods of studying law, understanding and analyzing legal texts, as well as providing an overview of the academic study plan and its importance in organizing students’ academic progress.
The session also addressed the future of College of Law graduates and the professional and academic opportunities available through the specialization, helping students develop a better understanding of the nature of their studies and their future prospects.
The session is part of the College of Law’s efforts to welcome new students and prepare them for a well-informed start to university life, while introducing them to the requirements of legal studies and the academic and professional opportunities available to them.
