Isra University Participates in “Science Café – Keeping a University Alive” Meeting in Cooperation with Turkish Atlas University

Isra University participated in the international academic meeting “Science Café – Keeping a University Alive,” held in cooperation with Istanbul Atlas University in Türkiye, with broad participation from distinguished academics, researchers, and students from both universities.
The delegation from Isra University included Prof. Dr. Nahid Hijazi, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ahmad Ezzat Al-Salibi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology; Dr. Taleb Abu Maala, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences; Dr. Maher Al-Bayoumi, Assistant to the University President for Projects; and Dr. Abdel Fattah Qarman, Dean of Scientific Research and Libraries, along with a number of university students. Representing Istanbul Atlas University were Prof. Dr. Ali Sınağ, Vice President of the University, together with a group of academics, researchers, and students.
The meeting discussed the current state of higher education and scientific research in the Gaza Strip, as well as the major challenges facing students and academics under the current circumstances. It also highlighted the intensive efforts being made to maintain the continuity of the educational and academic process.
Participants also explored prospects for strengthening joint academic and research cooperation between Isra University and Turkish universities. Proposed areas of cooperation included launching joint research projects, student and academic exchange programs, joint supervision of graduate students, organizing specialized seminars and workshops, and exchanging expertise and scientific knowledge resources.
The participants emphasized the importance of maintaining international academic communication and cooperation, given its significant role in supporting the advancement of higher education, preserving the vitality of Gaza’s academic community, and strengthening its ability to continue fulfilling its educational and societal role.
It is worth noting that this meeting is part of a series of ongoing meetings and communications conducted by the University’s administration with various local and international academic institutions. These efforts reflect the University’s continued commitment to opening new avenues for cooperation, overcoming challenges facing its students and researchers, and ensuring sustained academic engagement in support of education, science, and knowledge.
