The Al-Israa University Journal of Humanities Sciences has achieved a new scientific milestone after successfully meeting the accreditation standards of the Arab Citation & Impact Factor (ARCIF) for 2026. The journal received an impact factor of 0.3091 and was ranked in the Q2 category in the field of Arts and Humanities.
According to the 11th annual report of the ARCIF Impact Factor for 2026, the journal, published by the Deanship of Scientific Research and Libraries at Al-Israa University in Gaza, successfully met internationally aligned accreditation standards. The evaluation process covered more than 5,650 scientific and research journals across various disciplines, published by more than 2,600 scientific and research institutions throughout the Arab world. Of these, only 1,303 scientific journals were accredited according to the criteria adopted for this year.
The ARCIF letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief of the Al-Israa University Journal of Humanities Sciences, Dr. Asmaa Nasr, stated that the journal was ranked in the Q2 category in Arts and Humanities, out of a total of 263 journals at the Arab level. The average ARCIF impact factor for this field was 0.176, compared with the journal’s impact factor of 0.3091.
The Dean of Scientific Research and Libraries at Al-Israa University, Dr. Abdul Fattah Qarman, emphasized that the journal’s successful fulfillment of the ARCIF standards and its achievement of a Q2 ranking represent an important milestone in the journal’s development. He noted that this accomplishment reflects the efforts of the editorial board, researchers, reviewers, and the Deanship of Scientific Research and Libraries to advance the quality of scientific publishing.
He also highlighted the university’s continued efforts to support its academic journals, improve the quality of research output, and strengthen peer-review and publishing standards, thereby contributing to enhancing the standing of the university and its scientific journals at both the Arab and international levels.
For his part, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Alaa Matar, said that the journal’s Q2 ranking represents an important achievement and the result of sustained academic and scientific efforts by the university to develop its research and scientific publishing system and strengthen its academic presence both regionally and internationally.
He added that this achievement reflects the progress made by the journal in terms of research quality, publishing standards, and academic editorial practices. It also demonstrates the competence of the researchers, faculty members, and academic and editorial committees overseeing the journal. He pointed out that achieving this ranking comes amid exceptional circumstances and challenges facing the higher education and scientific research sector.
The ARCIF Impact Factor is one of the initiatives of the e-Marefa database for scientific production and content. It evaluates journals according to a set of scientific standards, while its annual report announces the results of accredited journals and highlights their impact factors and rankings across different disciplines.
