Unprecedented scientific momentum: 55 research papers from leading Arab and international experts at the Gaza Reconstruction Conference
In a scientific scene that reflects the scale of regional and international interest in recovery and reconstruction issues, Al-Isra University (Palestine) is preparing to launch its peer-reviewed international conference, with broad participation that includes 55 scientific papers submitted by local and international researchers—clear evidence of the growing academic engagement in addressing the challenges facing the Gaza Strip.
This remarkable research momentum comes within the framework of the international conference titled: “From the Heart of Destruction to Recovery and Reconstruction: Higher Education as a Technological Bridge for Innovation and Building Sustainable Societies.” The event brings together a distinguished group of researchers and experts from various countries to present scientific insights and practical approaches that support recovery pathways and تعزيز the role of higher education as a key driver of reconstruction and sustainable development.
The conference is organized in partnership with Birzeit University, the Jeel Scientific Research Center, and the London Center for Social Research and Consultations. It will feature 55 scientific and research presentations representing diverse academic expertise from Palestine, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Belgium, Iraq, and Libya—highlighting various disciplines in higher education and its vital role in post-conflict recovery and reconstruction.
The research contributions address multiple experiences from the Palestinian context, including challenges of implementing e-learning and vocational/technical training during wartime, and the role of artificial intelligence in developing students’ linguistic and cognitive skills. They also cover digital capacity building, strengthening psychological resilience, promoting green economy and sustainability in affected communities, as well as empowering youth, fostering entrepreneurship, and exploring the role of smart universities in supporting reconstruction and building sustainable societies.
The conference aims to serve as a platform for exchanging scientific expertise among local and international academics, enhancing research collaboration, and developing innovative strategies for sustainable higher education.
It also highlights the importance of higher education in supporting society and rebuilding institutional capacities, with a focus on the role of scientific research and modern technology in promoting societal sustainability and innovation.
This event represents an important step toward shaping a clear vision for university education in post-crisis contexts—ensuring that higher education becomes a true bridge for recovery, reconstruction, and future-building in Palestine and other conflict-affected regions.
