During his intervention at the conference, in his capacity as an expert in urban planning,
Professor Dr. Rami Nasrallah,
Chairman of the Board of the Regional Institute for Sustainable Development (RISD), Jerusalem and Amman,
expressed his appreciation for being hosted at this distinguished conference organized by Israa University, commending the thoughtful selection of key themes addressing fundamental issues in the Palestinian context.

He presented a vision for the general framework of rebuilding neighborhoods and cities in the Gaza Strip, which will be shaped by the underlying social, cultural, and political structural factors within the reality of deepening Israeli occupation—factors that are among the most significant in influencing recovery and reconstruction processes.

The intervention also addressed the challenges in defining sustainability, including both the standardized, indicator-based approaches and the transformative approach that emphasizes values and social change, while aligning needs with the specific context of the Gaza Strip.

The presentation focused on resilience as a critical element—not only for crisis response but as a foundation for sustainable reconstruction—highlighting education as a strategic platform for building societal sustainability.

It also explored a number of interventions and tools available to achieve these goals within the specific conditions and realities of the Gaza Strip.
