Al-Israa University Journal of Applied Sciences Advances to Q3 in the 2025 SCImago Ranking

Al-Israa University – Palestine announced that the Al-Israa University Journal of Applied Sciences (IUJAS) has achieved a new qualitative academic milestone by advancing to the third quartile (Q3) in the 2025 SCImago Journal Rank (SJR). The journal recorded an SJR of 0.189 and an H-index of 5, reflecting its growing scientific standing and strengthening its presence in the international academic publishing arena.
The journal continues its distinguished presence as one of the scientific periodicals indexed in Scopus, with coverage extending from 2017 to 2026. Its CiteScore for 2024 reached 1.1, while the CiteScoreTracker for 2025 has so far reached 1.3—clearly indicating its steadily improving performance and scientific output.
Dr. Abdel Fattah Qarman, Dean of Scientific Research and Libraries and Editor-in-Chief of the journal, affirmed that this progress is the result of continuous scientific and editorial work. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all editors, reviewers, and researchers who contributed their sincere efforts to this achievement, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to further develop the journal and strengthen its position among peer-reviewed scientific journals.
For his part, Dr. Ahmad Al-Masri, Head of the Scientific Journals Department, noted that this achievement is the outcome of organized institutional effort and continuous integration between scientific, editorial, and technical aspects, which has contributed to elevating the journal’s level and enhancing its academic presence.
It is worth noting that over the past two months, the journal has published its April issue, along with a special issue in the field of biotechnology. Work is currently underway to complete the October 2026 issue in accordance with the approved editorial plan.
Professor Dr. Alaa Matar, President of the University, stated that this achievement embodies the university’s vision of strengthening scientific research and advancing academic publishing according to international quality standards. It reflects the advanced academic standing that Al-Israa University has reached in global ranking and indexing indicators.
He added that this achievement represents a bright milestone in the university’s academic journey and reinforces its firm commitment to supporting scientific research and excellence in knowledge dissemination.
