📌 Al-Israa University’s Intermediate Studies College Concludes Its Extracurricular Activities with an Exciting Volleyball Final

The Intermediate Studies College at Al-Israa University concluded its series of extracurricular activities for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year by organizing the final match of its volleyball championship. The match brought together the college’s student team and the university staff team in an enthusiastic atmosphere with strong audience attendance.

The final was attended by the Dean of the Intermediate Studies College, Dr. Basel Al-Sheikh, and the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Abu Amra, along with several faculty members. The event was sponsored by the "Gallant Knight 3" initiative, represented by Dr. Rami Fares and Mr. Saadi Taha, and was attended by a number of prominent sports figures, including Captain Khaled Al-Arqan, coach of the Palestinian national volleyball team; Captain Abdel Nasser Al-Barqouni, coach of Namaa Volleyball Club; and sports journalist Ahmed Abu Diab.

In his remarks, Dr. Basel Al-Sheikh emphasized that these extracurricular activities reflect the college’s commitment to developing students’ personalities and enhancing their diverse skills. He noted that sports play a vital role in fostering teamwork and cooperation among students. He added that organizing such events helps create a positive and motivating university environment, strengthens institutional belonging, and promotes excellence on both the academic and personal levels. He also praised the efforts of the organizers and the active participation of the students, which greatly contributed to the championship’s success.

The competition was highly competitive, with the two finalists advancing after a tournament that featured eight teams made up of students and university staff. The student team ultimately defeated the staff team by three sets to two in a thrilling match that remained closely contested until the final moments.

The tournament and the final match were officiated by an international refereeing team consisting of international referees Osama Al-Muqayyad and Hatem Hamouda.

The championship marked the culmination of a series of extracurricular activities organized by the college throughout the semester, including cultural events and volunteer campaigns, as part of the college’s and the university’s ongoing commitment to strengthening students’ role in serving the community and developing their various skills.
