Al-Israa University Commemorates the 46th Land Day with a Distinguished Heritage Ceremony

On Thursday, Al-Israa University commemorated the 46th anniversary of Land Day, with the participation of His Excellency Dr. Mufeed Al-Hasayneh, former Minister of Public Works and Housing, and in the presence of Engineer Omar Al-Hindi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Israa University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hasayneh, Vice President of the University for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Alaa Matar, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdel-Jawad Al-Attar, the event coordinator, along with a host of dignitaries, notables, local leaders, members of the administrative and teaching staff, and university students. Dr. Ahmed Al-Hasayneh opened the ceremony, welcoming the guests and participants to this national event. He emphasized that by commemorating this day, Palestinians reaffirm their "steadfastness to their land despite all the hardships they endure," stressing that the Palestinian people will remain resilient and steadfast on their land "until the entirety of Palestinian land is returned to us." For his part, Dr. Mufeed Al-Hasayneh expressed his happiness at participating in this "distinguished national event" marking Land Day, praising the university's outstanding programs and specializations that align with labor market needs. The former minister affirmed the Palestinian people's unwavering belief that "Palestine will endure and remain ours, as it is the land of prophets and messengers, the birthplace of Jesus (peace be upon him), and the site of the Prophet Muhammad’s night journey (peace be upon him)." He also highlighted the importance of strengthening Palestinian unity in the face of the ongoing practices and aggressions by the occupying state. In his speech on behalf of the local leaders and dignitaries, Mukhtar Hammad Baraka extended his gratitude to the university administration for organizing this "exceptional national carnival to commemorate a day dear to the hearts of all Palestinians—Land Day." The event featured a variety of activities, including performances of traditional Palestinian Dabke, the opening of an art exhibition in collaboration with the Fine Arts Forum to emphasize the authenticity of Palestinian heritage, the setup of a traditional Bedouin poetry tent, and the planting of olive trees—symbolizing their attachment to the land.
