"Al-Isra University" Holds Master's Thesis Defense, Reuniting Student with Family Separated by War
Despite war and siege, Al-Isra University - Palestine defended the Master’s thesis of student Nour Issa on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in an act of defiance against adversity. The defense took place at the Embassy of Palestine in Egypt, where Nour, currently residing in Egypt, was virtually reunited with her family in Gaza—a powerful testament to resilience amid destruction. The ceremony was attended by: First Counselor Jihad Al-Qudra, Educational Affairs Advisor at the Embassy Dr. Iyad Abu Al-Hanoud, Director of Academic and Research Affairs at the Embassy Dr. Munyah Mazid, Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at the University Dr. Alaa Matar, Acting President of Al-Isra University (via video link from Gaza) Dr. Ahmed Al-Hassayneh, Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences The thesis examination committee and the student’s family Nour was awarded her Master’s degree in Business Administration for her research titled: "The Impact of Corporate Life Cycle on the Relationship Between Earnings Management and Bankruptcy Risk." Thesis Committee: Dr. Mohammed Abu Youssef (Supervisor & Chair) Dr. Rafat Al-Araj (Internal Examiner) Dr. Omar Al-Jaidi (Online Supervisor from Spain) Dr. Hassan Abu Nasser (External Examiner) Leadership Appreciation Dr. Alaa Matar, Acting University President, praised the Palestinian Embassy in Egypt—led by Ambassador Dr. Diab Al-Louh—for its unwavering support to Palestinian expatriates and students pursuing education. He also extended gratitude to: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by HE Minister Dr. Amjad Barham, for facilitating thesis defenses amid wartime challenges. Dr. Maamar Ashteiwi, Head of the National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, for his continuous support to Al-Isra University. Dr. Matar commended the thesis committee for their dedication, highlighting their role in upholding Palestinian perseverance in education despite war and hardship. He congratulated Nour and her family on her academic achievement.
