Dr. Taleb Abu Mualla, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Al-Israa University, paid a visit to the headquarters of the Palestinian Union of Social and Psychological Specialists – Gaza Governorates, in Deir al-Balah City, as part of efforts to strengthen partnership between academic and professional institutions. He was received by Dr. Salama Abu Zaiter, Head of the Union.
The visit came within the framework of a shared interest in supporting graduates of the Clinical Psychology Department. During the meeting, several issues related to graduates’ professional futures were discussed, foremost among them the regulation of professional practice and the provision of professional and training requirements that contribute to preparing graduates to integrate into the labor market efficiently and effectively.
Dr. Salama Abu Zaiter emphasized the importance of integration between the academic and professional aspects, stressing the role of the Union in regulating and protecting the profession, and supporting graduates of social work and psychological specialties through specialized training and qualification programs that enhance their readiness to work in governmental and non-governmental institutions.
For his part, Dr. Taleb Abu Mualla praised the pioneering role played by the Union in embracing and professionally supporting graduates, commending its efforts to develop work mechanisms, and affirming the University’s readiness to strengthen joint cooperation in a way that serves students and graduates.
At the conclusion of the visit, both parties affirmed the importance of continued coordination and future cooperation, and agreed on the preparation of a joint action plan that includes training and qualification programs and activities contributing to empowering graduates and enhancing their professional presence.
