Al-Israa University Announces Its 17th International Scientific Conference: “From the Heart of Destruction to Recovery and Reconstruction” ✍🏻🇵🇸

Al-Israa University – Palestine has announced the date of its 17th International Scientific Conference, entitled:

“From the Heart of Destruction to Recovery and Reconstruction: Higher Education as a Technological Bridge for Innovation and Building Sustainable Societies,”

which will be held in both in-person and online formats on March 27–28, 2026, in Gaza City. 🇵🇸

The conference is organized in partnership with Birzeit University, the Jeel Research Center, and the London Center for Research and Social Consultancy, with wide participation from local, Arab, and international researchers and experts, in addition to academic institutions and specialized research centers.

The Conference Chair, Dr. Munia Mazeed, Dean of Graduate Studies at Al-Israa University, stated that the conference aims to highlight the role of higher education and technology in rebuilding societies affected by wars, and in transforming resulting challenges into opportunities for innovation and sustainable growth.

She added that the conference seeks to develop smart technological solutions to address the impacts of conflicts, such as the destruction of infrastructure and population displacement, as well as to rebuild higher education systems to become more flexible and responsive to changing realities.

The conference also aims to integrate technical and human disciplines to prepare leaders capable of leading reconstruction processes, and to enhance cooperation between universities and the public and private sectors to create sustainable job opportunities that support economic and social growth.

Dr. Mazeed emphasized that the conference will provide a global dialogue platform bringing together academics, decision-makers, and innovators to exchange expertise and ideas on higher education as a tool for recovery and building a more sustainable future.

She extended her thanks to the President of the University and Honorary President of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Alaa Matar, in appreciation of his continuous support and efforts in providing all requirements for the success of the conference, and praised the efforts of the preparatory committees and Arab and international partner institutions contributing to the organization of this scientific event.

The conference will address a wide range of scientific and research themes, most notably:

  1. The impact of wars on higher education systems: diagnosis and challenges
  2. Higher education as a tool for reconstruction
  3. Technology as a bridge to innovation and development
  4. Community sustainability through education
  5. International and local partnerships to empower education
  6. Towards the future: challenges and opportunities
  7. Case studies and inspiring models from international experiences

The conference will be held in person with the option of virtual participation. Special links will be sent to online participants prior to the conference, enabling them to take part in discussion sessions and research presentations via video, ensuring direct interaction with speakers from around the world.

The Scientific Committee of the conference announced that the deadline for submitting research abstracts is December 31, 2025 📆

The deadline for submitting final papers is February 15, 2026.

This conference represents an important scientific step toward employing higher education as a tool for national recovery and future building in Palestine, and conveys a clear message from Al-Israa University that science is the most reliable path from beneath the rubble toward reconstruction and innovation.
