Al-Israa University and Deniz Feneri Association Discuss Enhancing Cooperation to Support the Recovery of Higher Education Institutions

The Gaza office of the Deniz Feneri Association received a high-level delegation from Al-Israa University during an official visit aimed at discussing ways of joint cooperation and strengthening partnership in the educational sector. This cooperation seeks to support the academic journey and serve students in light of the current challenges facing the Gaza Strip.
The Al-Israa University delegation included Prof. Dr. Alaa Matar, President of the University; Dr. Nahed Hijazi, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ezzat Al-Askar, Head of the Clinical Psychology Department; and Dr. Ahmed Al-Salibi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. The delegation was received on behalf of the Deniz Feneri Association by Eng. Hamada Shath, Institutional Relations and External Coordination Officer; Eng. Basel Abu Hamid, Food Security Sector Officer; and Mr. Mohammed Mousa, Media Department Officer.
The meeting addressed a number of vital issues, foremost among which were the mechanisms for rehabilitating the university building and ways to contribute to creating a safe and appropriate learning environment. This environment aims to enable students to resume their education and continue their academic journeys, stemming from a firm belief that education constitutes the cornerstone of human development, resilience, and building hope for the future. During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of uniting humanitarian and educational efforts to support academic institutions and working in an integrated manner to elevate the educational reality, ensuring the continuity of the educational process despite exceptional circumstances and challenges.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Alaa Matar, President of Al-Israa University, said: "This visit comes within the framework of the university's keenness to build effective partnerships with organizations that support humanitarian and educational work, contributing to the rehabilitation of the educational infrastructure and providing an appropriate environment for our students." He added: "We believe that investing in education is an investment in the future of our people, and that uniting efforts at this stage represents an urgent necessity to ensure the continuity of our academic mission and to serve our future generations."
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Deniz Feneri Association expressed its appreciation for the pioneering role Al-Israa University plays in serving the educational sector, praising its continuous efforts to maintain the continuity of the academic process despite challenges. The Association confirmed its commitment to enhancing aspects of joint cooperation during the coming phase, contributing to supporting rehabilitation projects and developing the educational environment, in a way that reflects a shared commitment toward empowering students and strengthening the resilience of educational institutions in the Gaza Strip.
