Gaza – Public Relations

Palestinian writer Nour Yaqub Abu Odeh, a student of English at Al-Israa University, content writer, and marketing professional, has published her first novel titled “Stella.” The novel spans 71 medium-sized pages and contains approximately 14,000 words, forming the first part of a series in which the author seeks to blend literary storytelling with concepts of work, marketing, and self-development.

The novel tells the story of a young woman named Stella, through whom the author explores a complex journey of social, emotional, and professional challenges. The story begins with Stella losing her mother in childhood, followed by family disruptions due to her father’s remarriage, contrasted with her mother’s previous marriage and the birth of a child suffering from a chronic illness. The novel highlights escalating family conflicts, as Stella’s father treats her half-brother with hostility, increasing the pressures on the protagonist from an early age.

Professionally, the novel follows Stella’s career journey, starting with losing her simple job at a newsstand, then deciding to rebuild herself by entering the restaurant industry. She begins in the accounting department, proves her competence, earns successive promotions, and is eventually sent by the company to represent it in institutions specializing in hotel and restaurant management. The novel illustrates Stella’s professional development through the courses she undertakes in marketing and hotel management, shaping her into an effective and successful character in a highly competitive work environment.

Abu Odeh explained that “Stella” represents the first part of a literary project aimed at guiding the reader from following personal challenges and conflicts to discovering the world of marketing and business in an engaging and simplified manner. The first part primarily seeks to create suspense and show how one can turn crises into success stories, while subsequent parts will focus on expanding on marketing and business concepts in a smooth literary style.

The author added that her works aim to encourage young women and men to face difficult circumstances, adopt practical thinking, and understand the opportunities that marketing offers for both professional and personal development, noting that she has additional literary works in progress that will be published later.

“Stella” marks Abu Odeh’s debut published work, combining social, emotional, and professional elements, and presenting a narrative model inspired by local realities, offering a motivational vision on willpower, ambition, and building the future.
