Al-Israa University – Palestine received a delegation from the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence, headed by Engineer Adnan Smara, and including Prof. Dr. Nizam Al-Ashqar, Prof. Dr. Ali Mansour, Advisor Maher Shbeir, Prof. Dr. Abdel Karim Al-Madhoun, Dr. Nader Abu Sharkh, and Dr. Abdel Karim Sahmoud.

The delegation was welcomed by the University President, Prof. Dr. Alaa Mattar, in the presence of Dr. Nahid Hijazi, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Fattah Qurman, Dean of Scientific Research and Libraries; Dr. Ahmad Al-Salibi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology; Mr. Mohammed Abu Amra, Assistant Dean of the Intermediate Studies College for Academic Affairs and Director of Libraries; and Dr. Ihab Abu Al-Khair, Director of Public Relations.

Prof. Dr. Alaa Mattar welcomed the visiting delegation, emphasizing Al-Istiqlal University’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with national institutions supporting creativity and excellence. He noted that such collaboration contributes to the development of the academic and research environment and opens new horizons for students and researchers in innovation fields.

Dr. Mattar pointed out that the university places great importance on enhancing scientific research and linking it to practical applications, in order to produce usable knowledge that serves societal issues. He added that the university continuously works to develop its academic programs in line with scientific and technological advancements, while expanding its network of external partnerships with reputable international universities and institutions. He highlighted recent collaborations with several Japanese universities, which open new opportunities for students and researchers to exchange expertise and develop joint research projects.

For his part, Engineer Adnan Smara expressed, during a phone call, his happiness with the meeting and communication with Al-Istiqlal University, extending his best wishes for continued success and progress in its academic journey.

He praised the significant efforts made by the university and its staff to improve the educational process and foster an environment of creativity and excellence, expressing confidence that the coming period will bring further qualitative achievements, given the university’s distinguished competencies and ambitious development vision.

The delegation of the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Al-Istiqlal University for the warm reception, praising the university’s outstanding level in education and scientific research, as well as its active role in supporting the system of creativity and innovation.

They also congratulated Prof. Dr. Alaa Mattar on his appointment as a member representing Al-Istiqlal University in the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence, in recognition of his academic efforts and his role in supporting creativity and excellence, and in strengthening cooperation between both sides.

The delegation affirmed that the university’s recent achievements, particularly its organization of a specialized conference and workshops, reflect a high level of professionalism and excellence, along with notable engagement from students and academic staff, and the diversity of disciplines that meet scientific and technological development needs. They expressed their aspiration to build distinguished cooperation in the coming phase, based on knowledge exchange and the adoption of pioneering initiatives and creative ideas, contributing to supporting students and graduates and enhancing the role of academic institutions in serving society and sustainable development.

The meeting included an extensive and productive discussion, during which it was agreed to enhance cooperation in adopting several outstanding graduation projects, develop joint mechanisms to support entrepreneurial initiatives, and study the establishment of a creativity focal point within the university connected to the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence, aimed at following up on innovative ideas and strengthening continuous communication with students and graduates.
