Al-Isra University Celebrates Graduation of Its Fifth Cohort "Jinin Cohort"

Al-Isra University in Palestine celebrated today the graduation of its fifth cohort, "Jinin Cohort," in a grand ceremony held at the university's main campus in Al-Zahra city, Gaza Strip, under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Mahmoud Abu Mwais, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The joyous celebration was attended by wide segments of Palestinian society, including government officials, faction representatives, institutional leaders, union members, media professionals, in addition to university administration, faculty members, students and their families. In his commencement speech, H.E. Minister Abu Mwais conveyed the greetings and congratulations of H.E. President Mahmoud Abbas "Abu Mazen," the Prime Minister, and the Palestinian government to Al-Isra University and its graduates. The Minister stated: "Allow me, in your name, to dedicate this success to our martyrs who remained faithful to their covenant with God, and to our resisting prisoners and wounded - blessed be their souls." He praised Al-Isra University for its academic excellence and distinguished programs, particularly commending the university's medical city project which he described as "a new chapter in the university's history." Minister Abu Mwais called on Palestinian universities to focus on skill development through technical and dual programs that meet labor market needs, emphasizing the importance of modern programs in digital transformation and artificial intelligence to keep pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He concluded by congratulating graduates, urging them to "compete, innovate, and maintain ties with your alma mater." University President Prof. Abdulkhaleq Al-Farra thanked the Minister for his participation and welcomed the distinguished attendees, including university presidents, representatives of local and international institutions, and graduates' families. Prof. Al-Farra highlighted the university's qualitative leap through new colleges and academic programs, particularly in digital fields, noting the completion of all necessary medical labs for the human medicine program. He announced the completion of the first phase of the university hospital project and the launch of its final phase, describing it as "a medical hub for southern governorates that will serve all Palestinian university students." The President expressed gratitude to H.E. President Abbas for his support, and to Board Chairman Eng. Omar Al-Hindi and board members, while paying tribute to the late Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hassaina, former board chairman who championed this national project. The ceremony concluded with President Al-Farra congratulating graduates and their families on this crowning achievement after years of hard work and dedication.
