On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, Al-Israa University – Palestine discussed a Master’s thesis by student Ahmed Mustafa Ali Al-Jazzar. The student was awarded a Master’s degree by the Dean of Graduate Studies in the Business Administration program for his research titled: “The Impact of Digital Transformation on Improving Institutional Performance in Private Universities in the Southern Palestinian Governorates.” The discussion was attended by: Dr. Nahid Hijazi, Dean of Graduate Studies at the university, Dr. Munyah Mazid, Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hassaina, Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences. The thesis evaluation committee, held electronically via Zoom, consisted of: Dr. Alaa Khalil Al-Akash (Supervisor and Chair), Dr. Rafat Al-Hour (Supervisor), Dr. Samar Refaat Attallah (Internal Examiner, from the Arab Republic of Egypt), Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Rahman Al-Shanti (External Examiner). The discussion took place in a distinguished academic atmosphere, where the researcher presented the details of his study despite the harsh conditions Gaza endures amid the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people. Study Objectives & Methodology The study aimed to explore the impact of digital transformation on improving institutional performance in private universities in the southern Palestinian governorates (Islamic University of Gaza and Al-Azhar University), using a descriptive-analytical approach. The researcher distributed 270 questionnaires to academic, administrative, and academic-administrative staff at these universities, selected from a total of 769 employees who formed the study sample. Key Findings The availability of digital transformation dimensions was rated high, with a relative weight of 76.178%. The level of institutional performance was also rated high, with a relative weight of 74.321%. The study revealed a positive correlation (0.722%) between digital transformation and institutional performance. Digital transformation was found to significantly improve institutional performance, explaining 51.3% of the variance in the dependent variable (institutional performance). Committee’s Appraisal The evaluation committee praised the thesis, emphasizing the importance of its findings and recommendations, which contribute to: Promoting digital transformation culture, Implementing digital transformation requirements at all academic and administrative levels, Enhancing institutional performance as a key influential factor.
