Al-Israa University has obtained official membership in the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) after its application was approved by the union’s Board of Directors, making it a member of a prestigious international academic network that includes more than 100 universities from countries across the Mediterranean region.

Dr. Abdel Fattah Qarman, Dean of Scientific Research and Libraries, said:
“This membership represents an important step in strengthening scientific research at the university and opens broad opportunities for participation in international research projects and for developing the capacities of researchers and faculty members.”

Professor Dr. Alaa Matar, President of Al-Israa University, added:
“This membership enhances the university’s internationalization path and provides important opportunities for academic and student exchange, as well as participation in international projects that contribute to improving the quality of education and strengthening the university’s position regionally and internationally.”

This membership offers Al-Israa University broad opportunities for cooperation in international research projects, academic exchange programs, and joining specialized networks within the union, including European Union programs such as Erasmus+.

This achievement is considered a significant addition to the university’s journey toward strengthening higher education, scientific research, and serving the Palestinian community.
